The Gallerie dell’Accademia of Venice will open to the public Vittore Carpaccio’s Saint Ursula room, currently undergoing a major restoration campaign sponsored by Save Venice Inc.

Starting from Wednesday, February 21 the Museum will offer weekly guided tours to the restoration worksite, in Italian and English. The english tours are provided and curated by Save Venice. Reservation is required. For safety reasons the maximum number of people for each guided tour is 30. The visit will be an opportunity to discover how art restoration works and to discuss with conservators and museum curators about this fundamental project.

In addition, three short documentaries will explore the history of the cycle and its influence on the venetian artistic context, through the lens of great filmmakers and art historians:

Luciano Emmer, La Leggenda di Sant’Orsola, 1948. 11 min (Italian)
James Ivory, Venice: Theme and Variations, 1957. 28 min (English)
